The fact that Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest paid player in Serie A may not come as a surprise, but what is surprising is the fact that the Juventus striker wins four more Serie A clubs.
The 35-year-old Portuguese earns 31 million euros a year at Juventus, while the salary bill of four Serie A clubs, Udinese, Hellas Verona, Spezia and Crotone, is lower than this amount.
Salary figures published by La Gazzetta dello Sport show that Cristiano earns so much money in Serie A that the highest paid player after him receives a salary four times lower than him and he is his Juventus teammate Matthijs de Ligt.
The Dutch defender earns eight million euros a year, while Romelu Lukaku of Inter with an annual salary worth 7.5 million euros.
Meanwhile, the highest paid coach in Serie A is Antonio Conte of Inter with 12 million euros per year, followed by Paulo Fonseca of Rome with 2.5 million euros per year and Gian Piero Gasperini of Atalanta with 2.2 million euros per year.
Surprisingly, Andrea Pirlo of Juventus earns only 1.8 million euros a year.
