Bale will not return at Real Madrid, says his manager

Gareth Bale could stay at Tottenham for more than a year on loan for which the club reached an agreement with Real Madrid, according to Welsh manager Jonathan Barnett.

The 31-year-old striker rejoined Tottenham this summer, which he left for Real Madrid in 2013 for a world record amount of 94 million euros.

“I am sure that if things go well, we will not have problems.” said Barnett.

“This is the club Bale wants to play for. I do not think there will be problems if he wants to stay another year.” he added.

Bale, who was on the verge of leaving Madrid for a Chinese club in the summer of 2019, has a contract with the Spanish giants until the summer of 2022 and according to the agreement should return to the Bernabeu at the end of this season.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4, Barnett said: “We hope he does not have to go back to Real. “He will be very successful at Tottenham, where he wants to stay and it will be easy to reach an agreement.”
