Gary Neville has warned that Manchester United will not be able to win the Premier League with a pair at center-back Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire, and has called on the club’s hierarchy to buy a center-back after a shock 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace.
Palace, inspired by Wilfried Zaha who scored two goals, defeated United convincingly in every aspect on Saturday.
Despite following Jadon Sancho all summer, Donny van de Beek is United’s only acquisition so far with just two weeks left until the end of the summer transfer window.
However, Neville – the former Red Devils right-back – insists United should definitely buy a new defender and not the Dortmund winger.
“We can talk about Jadon Sancho as much as we want but until Manchester United buy a center-back who can run and defend against one another he will not be able to win the Premier League.” said Neville.
“Manchester United will never win the Premier League with this pair of defenders.” he added.
