Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, who has also been one of Paul Pogbas’ toughest critics, has recently praised the French midfielder, saying he can do anything on the pitch and possessing many qualities similar to Steven Gerrard.
Paul Pogba returned to Old Trafford, where he started his career as a professional, from Juventus for million 89 million in the summer of 2016, after earning the status of one of the best midfielders in the world during his four-year tenure at Allianz Stadium.
He has often been part of that form in Manchester, but his behavior has been widely discussed. The 27-year-old was initially hailed as the footballer who would bring glory back to Old Trafford after four years without a Premier League title, but he has only won the League Cup and Europa League trophies since returning.
Pogba expressed his desire to embark on a new challenge in his career at the end of the season, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eventually managed to persuade him to stay at the Dream Theater for at least another year.
However, an ankle injury has made it impossible for the French star to contribute as much as he wanted during the 2019/20 season, as speculation about his future continues to intensify now that we are close to the summer transfer window.
However, Scholes, despite much criticism of the Frenchman in the past, says he is a big fan of Pogba, but adds that the 27-year-old could do even more than he has shown in recent years.
“I played for a short time with Pogba and everyone knows how talented he is. “He was brilliant for Juventus, brilliant for France and very good here at United as well.”
“He can do everything as a midfielder and you can liken him to Steven Gerrard in terms of his speed, strength and ability. “He can do absolutely anything.”
