Gareth Bale has revealed that coach Jose Mourinho played a key role in his decision to return to Tottenham from Real Madrid last week.
The 31-year-old winger returned to his home on a one-year loan from Real Madrid, seven years after leaving to join the Spanish giants for a world record amount – 94 million euros.
Bale has said he looks forward to forming an attacking partnership with Harry Kane and Hueng-Min Son after talking to Mourinho about his role on the pitch.
“He has talked to me about some positions in which he wants me to play and of course I am happy with that,” Bale told BT Sport.
“He was a big reason why I came back here, he is a winner. He is the perfect fit for Tottenham. We have to win trophies and Mourinho knows better than anyone else how to do it.”
