Rashford shows how Mourinho improved him as a player

Marcus Rashford believes that the difficult period he went through under  coach Jose Mourinho at Manchester United has made him a better player.

English striker Marcus Rashford played under Jose Mourinho from the beginning of the 2016/17 season until the dismissal of the Portuguese from the post of coach in December 2018.

During that time, Rashford won a Carabao Cup and a Europa League title, but was often publicly criticized by the coach as he constantly played as a winger, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Romelu Lukaku playing in the center. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rashford has managed to play in a much more impressive way and has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, before stopping his progress from a serious injury.

Despite not being in his best form as coach Mourinho, Rashford is convinced that period has made him a better player.

“It was difficult, but when you go back after five or six weeks, those are the moments when you notice that they have made you much stronger psychologically,” said Rashford.

“As a player in general, I’ve improved a lot and a lot depends on how much I’ve played under Jose.”

“It simply came to our notice then. “When I look at it now, it was a difficult period, but that period has definitely made me a better player.”
