Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he did not know who the club boss was when he left the Emirates in 2018.
Since joining the club in 1996, Wenger has witnessed many changes during his 22 years with the Gunners and helped them win 17 trophies.
Wenger’s last years at Arsenal were riddled with dissatisfaction from fans and uncertainty behind the scenes. During the departure, the Frenchman indicated that he no longer knew who was giving orders in the Emirates.
“What I see now is that the club has started investing a lot again.” Wenger told Canal +.
“There was no unity (in my time). We did not know who the boss was and that is not good. Now they have created a community and now the most important thing is to make good technical decisions.” he added.
“Mikel Arteta is doing a good job, yes. The club has regained its value, but only after a long time will we understand if the club values ??will continue to be represented. In the past, Arsenal were respected because they gave opportunities to young players.” he added.
