Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria has harshly criticized Argentina’s decision not to invite him to the next World Cup qualifier.
Earlier this week, coach Lionel Scaloni published the list of players invited for matches against Ecuador and Bolivia next month, but without a big name like Di Maria.
The 32-year-old winger scored 12 goals and prepared 23 more in all competitions for PSG last season and it is clear he feels he deserves a place on his national team.
“I can not find any explanation for this. I have no words. Argentina’s national team is the most important to me.” said Di Maria.
“Am I 32 years old?” If you think about replacements (in the national team) then you have to do it with everyone. Then in my opinion Messi, Otamendi and others who are high level should also leave. A lot of people say I’m older, but I’m only 32 years old and I keep running the same way.” he added.
