Sporting Lisbon has paid a great tribute to the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sporting, known for a quality academy, which has produced several well-known names for European football, of course even the five time Golden Ball winner, Ronaldo, has made a big decision to honor the 35-year-old.
The club academy will henceforth be named ‘Academia Cristiano Ronaldo’,
Ronaldo grew up as a player in Sporting.
He made his debut in 2002. From this team he moved to Man Utd, a transfer that took place just three days after the friendly between them, where Ronaldo left Sir Alex Ferguson open-mouthed at the time.
Today, Ronaldo counts 5 Golden Balls and four Golden Shoes as well as many other individual UEFA and FIFA awards, until he has won everything a footballer can win, except the World Cup with Portugal.
