Suarez successfully passes the language test, the Italian passport closer

Shortly after the end of today’s training session with Barcelona, the Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez flew to the Italian city of Perugia, where he underwent the language test, as part of the procedure to obtain Italian citizenship.

The news was given by the Spanish media, while later photos of the Barca attacker from the city of Perugia were published, going to the University for Foreigners, where he tested his knowledge of the Italian language.

The exam lasted a little over half an hour and the Uruguayan striker successfully passed it, while now getting the Italian passport is even closer, although the procedures are still ongoing.

Suarez is no longer part of Barcelona’s plans and was close to transferring to Juventus, but the black and white club gave up, as the striker does not have a European passport and the Turinese did not have a free place for extra-community footballers.

Although Suarez is insisting on staying in Barcelona in the last year of his contract, he has decided to anticipate any situation, by obtaining Italian citizenship, which would make the transfer from the Catalans easier.

However, in Spain they are convinced that Suarez’s future will be at the “blaugrana” club, as the Catalans do not intend to pay 15 million euros for the premature termination of his contract, while the Uruguayan himself is ready to leave the bench and deservedly win a starting place.
