Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez has chosen social media to defend himself after being accused of racism by Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar after a tense Ligue 1 match.
Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-0 against Marseille, but the match was marred by ugly scenes at the end of the match after five players were sent off for involvement in a brawl on the pitch.
Neymar was the last to be sent off the field for slapping Gonzalez in the back of the neck.
Off the field, the Brazilian striker accused the Spanish defender of racism.
But Gonzalez has defended himself, denying allegations of racism and urging Neymar to learn to accept defeat on the pitch through a Twitter reaction.
“There is no room for racism. I have a clean career with many teammates and friends day by day. Sometimes you have to learn how to lose and accept defeat on the field. “Three big points today, Force IOM, thank you family,” Gonzalez wrote on Twitter.
