Italian media: Buffon reaches an agreement with Juventus

Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport reports that Juventus veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and president Andrea Agnelli have reached an agreement to extend the footballer’s contract with the whites until 2021.

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon does not want to retire from his career yet, despite the fact that he is 42 years old, as he wants to contribute even more to the Juventus team. Tuttosport reports that the Italian goalkeeper has already secured a contract until 2021, after agreeing to do so with the president of Juventus last week, through a phone call.

Buffon has agreed to sign this new contract on the same terms as in the current contract, only to extend his career for another year and play until the age of 43.
At the moment, the contract cannot be formalized but Tuttosport claims that Buffon will sign this contract as soon as the first opportunity is given.

Buffon aims to extend his career as much as possible, and the same Italian newspaper reports that he intends to hold similar negotiations with Agnelli and sporting director Fabio Paratic next year.

However, the Italian will have to admit to being the second goalkeeper in the squad, as he has also played in just seven Serie A games this season and 11 in all competitions. He has kept the goal intact in three of those games and conceded nine goals.
