Pioli, after losing to Lille: “We left a lot of spaces”

After 8 months and 23 games without a loss, Milan was defeated in an official match, exactly in the challenge of the 3rd round in the Europa League against Lille at the San Siro, with the result 0-3.

The coach of the red and blacks, Stefano Pioli, sees the glass half full, after this defeat that does not affect the positions of Milan in terms of qualification.

He demands that the team react immediately after this negative result. “We faced a strong team and it is not that we started the match badly. Then we made things difficult for ourselves. I expected us to be more dangerous, but they are very fast and physically strong. They scored first and then took advantage of the spaces we left behind. We need to learn lessons from this match. We are a young but mature team and we will find a way to react. It is the first time we will have to analyze more negative things than positive ones. We allowed a lot of space to a very good team. I feel good in Milan, the environment is great and the leaders are very close to us. Here are the ideal conditions to do our job better.” said Pioli.
