Benzema is 10 games away from writing history with Real

Karim Benzema has played 517 matches for the Real Madrid team so far and he only needs 10 more matches to surpass Roberto Carlos’ record for the most matches played in the history of the club.

The French striker has started his 12th season with “Los Blancos” since his debut in 2009, after coming from the French team Lyon.

The 32-year-old scored his 250th personal goal as a Real Madrid player in the match against Levante.

He among other things is going through a fantastic form with the Madrilenians.

In the 2018/19 season he has scored 30 goals, his second best season during his career, as in the 2011/12 season he had scored 32 goals.

Last year, he scored 27 goals in 48 games, where together with Madrid they won the La Liga title.

During the two seasons he has only missed five games due to injury and team rotations.

After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, he has returned to the key player in the Spanish team.

In case he is not eventually injured, the Frenchman will break the record in the match against Alaves in the last week of November.

Marcelo had the advantage to break Carlos’ record, but the Brazilian did not show good performance during this time and lost the his place in the first lineup.

The left-back, Marcello has recorded 510 appearances as a Real player. He has played three seasons longer than Benzema in La Liga.

The list with the most appearances with the club jersey is led by Raul Gonzalez, who has 741 games.
