Switzerland selector Vladimir Petkovic has sided with Xherdan Shaqiri, who is going through a dark period in Liverpool.
The footballer was left for the seventh time at the beginning of the season out of the 18 guests invited by coach Jurgen Klopp, while in the last two seasons he played very little.
It is speculated that the player may leave “Anfield Road” at the end of the summer transfer window.
And, Petkovic insists the 28-year-old needs help at the moment.
“Shaqiri is a guy like the others in our team. When he comes to us, everything will be settled. The deadline will close on Monday evening. He has a strong character and can manage the situation. “Xherdan needs our help”, declared the Swiss coach in today’s press conference.
