Portugal coach Fernando Santos believes Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo is able to play until the age of 40 and says he does not expect him to lower the level.
The Portuguese captain scored 101 goals for the national team and is continuing to impress in the Juventus jersey, since joining in July 2018.
He has scored 68 goals in 91 games for the Whites.
Portugal coach Santos believes the 35-year-old, who has already scored three goals in Serie A this season, could play for another five years.
“Cristiano is ready to play until he is 40, but he does not know if that will happen. “It may happen that one day it feels like he no longer has the conditions to continue,” said Santos.
“He is not a player who will lower the level, when he feels he can no longer, he will not continue.” he added.
