Pioli has a few words for the Milan talent, Colombo

Stefano Pioli has analyzed for the Italian media the appearance of Milan in the challenge of the third qualifying round of the Europa League against the Norwegians of Bodo Glimt, a challenge which the red and blacks won with the result 3-2.

In his speech, Pioli praised Hakan Calhanoglu author of 2 goals in this match, spoke with superlatives about the talent Lorenzo Colombo, the 18-year-old who played the starter and scored his first goal as a professional with the red and blacks, while commenting on the opponent of the stage play-off that are the Portuguese of Rio Ave.

“A large part of the merits belong to him, as he is a very altruistic player. He works hard for the team. It’s hard to always expect two goals, but I expect this kind of appearance. He is an extraordinary boy and has the qualities to become a protagonist.”

“He must be very excited and he showed it. This is a good thing for him, he is only 18 years old and was called to play right before the match. He had responsibilities. Anyway he is a great guy, down to earth and who has the will to work. It is not easy to find young people with this attitude. Colombo knows he has to work hard to improve. I am happy that he was ready and scored, as he did before the start of the season.”

“It is obvious that all the matches are difficult. We knew this would be a challenging showdown with Bodo Glimt. We had seven important players missing. Now we focus on the next match in the championship on Sunday and then we think about the play-off match against Rio Ave”.
