Suarez: Koeman did not want me, I respect his decision

Luis Suarez’s departure from Barcelona is the handiwork of new coach Ronald Koeman.

This was confirmed by the Uruguayan himself at the farewell ceremony.

Koeman wants to rebuild Barca and immediately after coming to the bench, he called Suarez to tell him that he is not part of his plans.

“It has been a crazy month.” Suarez said at first.

“The club needed changes and the coach did not count on me.”

“I accept and respect Koeman’s decision that he does not count on me.” said Suarez, among other things, confirming the call of the coach who had announced the news that he does not want him in the team.

But Suarez had continued as a true professional until the day of finding the new club.

“I just wanted to continue training with Barca as a professional until I find a solution.”

Suarez will wear the Atletico jersey for two seasons.
