Official: Wolves buys Semendo from Barcelona for 40 million euros

Nelson Semedo has joined Premier League club Wolves from Barcelona for €40 million, including bonuses.

Barcelona announced on Wednesday morning that it has reached an agreement with Wolves for the sale of Semedo.

“Barcelona and Wolves have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nelson Semedo. Barcelona wants to publicly express its gratitude to Nelson Semedo for his commitment and wishes him all the best for the future.” reads a statement from Barca.

The English club will pay Barca 30 million euros in cash and another 10 million euros in bonuses.

The Portuguese right-back leaves Barcelona after three seasons and 122 appearances for the Catalans.

He had joined Barcelona from Benfica in the summer of 2017 and has scored just two goals for him in 122 appearances.

At Wolves he goes as a replacement for Matt Doherty, who joined Tottenham the day before.
