Girona, the second test for Koeman

Barcelona will face Girona at the Johan Cruyff Stadium tonight in a preparatory match, in what will be the second test for the new coach of the Catalan giants, Ronald Koeman.

The Dutch coach is expected to activate all the players at his disposal, but he will still have to make some decisions.

Koeman will likely stick to his 4-2-3-1 scheme and use two different starting lineups for each part of the game, as he did on Saturday in the first friendly against Nastic.

Koeman demands high intensity from his players, something that Barcelona has missed a lot.

New acquisition Miralem Pjanic will not be available to him this time either.

What everyone is interested in is whether Koeman will leave Luis Suarez at home again, who has not yet left the club after being told he is not part of the coach’s plans.

Barcelona will have another friendly against Elche on Saturday, and then will start the new season in La Liga with the match against Villarreal on September 26 or 27.
