Barcelona’s plan for Garcia and Depay – they will sell five players

The Manchester City defender and Lyon striker continue to be the target of Ronald Koeman.

Barcelona have not given up on their goal during the summer transfer window, they will again try to sign the duo Eric Garcia (Manchester City) and Memphis Depay (Lyon) in the January transfer window.

Barca wants to close the deal with the two players in the January transfer window and make them official for next season.

The reason why they can arrive in January is the fact that the contracts of both players expire next summer with the respective clubs, and both Man City and Lyon can sell them in January to benefit economically.

Both players are the favorites of the Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman, what has wanted since his arrival as the club’s coach, to have the duo in the team.

The Spanish defender, Garcia, whose contract expires in June 2021, has been part of the Barcelona academy since 2016, then was sold to City.

The 19-year-old counts 27 appearances in all competitions with the Manchester City team, even after many attempts to extend his contract, the Spaniard has decided to leave and his destination is expected to be the former childhood club.

On the other hand, the Dutch striker, Depay, is showing an impressive performance to the French team Lyon, where this beginning of the season during nine appearances, he has managed to score five goals and assist three times.

The 26-year-old is ready to join the Catalans, but after the financial problems that the Spanish giant now has, he will wait until the January transfer window, maybe even in the summer to be part of Barcelona.

Before buying both, Barca is considering removing Braithwaite, Firpo, Alena, Dembele and Umtiti from the team.
