Zinedine Zidane has said that it has not occurred to him to resign, despite the great pressure he faces as coach of Real Madrid.
The Frenchman was under pressure following Real’s loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League last week in the group’s opening match.
Before that defeat, Madrid had lost to Cadiz in La Liga, so the pressure on Zidane had increased significantly.
But Zidane’s side reacted miraculously at the weekend by beating Barcelona in their first El Clasico this season, thanks to goals from Federico Valverde, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric.
Speaking at a press conference before the match against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League, Zidane said that his mind is only on this match and nothing else.
“I think about tomorrow’s match, not whether I should resign or not. I will fight until the last day. And then we’ll see.” said Zidane.
