Fati and Pedri have a great future, says Koeman

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman could not hide his excitement with the impressive performance of Ansu Fati in his team’s 4-0 victory against Villarreal in its opening match in La Liga this season.

Fati scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the match, helping coach Ronald Koeman start his La Liga campaign in style.

Messi scored the third goal from the penalty spot, before Pau Torres scored an own goal shortly before the end of the first half.

But it was Fati who shone on Sunday night at the Camp Nou and testified why many people regard him as Messi’s successor one day.

Pedri played in the second half and made a good performance.

“His appearance should stand out. I am very happy with him. We know he is only 17 years old and he needs to improve.” Koeman said when asked about Fati.

“He did not play so well against Elche but today he did. Made a great match. I’m happy with him and Pedri. Both have a great future.” he added.
