Karim Benzema has said that he has always has seen Ronaldo Nazario as an example, the Brazilian legend whom he considers the best striker in the history of football.
The French striker has made his way to Real Madrid in recent years, but insists nothing would have been achieved if it were not for the former Brazilian striker.
“I have had Ronaldo as an idol since I was young. I started watching football because of him.” Benzema told Movistar.
“I watched his movements and tried to imitate whatever he was doing. No one has been like him, he has been an example for me.” he added.
He praised the former Inter, Barcelona and Real Madrid striker: “Some players had his speed, but not his control of the ball and his ability at the same time.”
“People think he only scored goals, but he could do anything. Forwards need to know how to do a lot of things, not just score goals, and Ronaldo was the perfect example.”
