Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal can win the Premier League title under coach Mikel Arteta and admits he is surprised by the level of investment in the team in recent seasons.
Arsenal started the new season in the league with nine of the 12 possible points and are ranked fourth – just three points behind the surprising leader, Everton.
The Arteta team will face Manchester City on Saturday and Wenger believes the Spanish coach has enough quality in his team to end the 16-year wait for the title.
“I honestly believe so, because it seems that he has got his hands on the team very well. They (the players) understand that very well.” said Wenger.
“We have bought good players, we have spent a lot of money in the last two seasons. Suddenly we discovered a lot of revenue, it was quite a surprise.” he added.
“I think he has quality players and enough (to win the title). We can win it, why not? ”
