Antoine Griezmann has criticized the Spanish daily ABC for its racist comments about Ansu Fati following Barcelona’s 5-1 Champions League triumph over Ferencvaro on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Fati had another impressive evening in the Champions League on Tuesday, scoring in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over the Hungarian club at the Camp Nou.<\/p>\n
In its report on the match, the Spanish national newspaper, ABC, made racist comments, comparing Fati to a “black street vendor who runs away as soon as he sees the police coming”.<\/p>\n
“Ansu was close to scoring with a shot from a typical striker, rolling perfectly.” the Spanish newspaper wrote.<\/p>\n
“Ansu bears a resemblance to a gazelle when running. He looks like a young black street vendor, whom you can see walking on foot on the Paseo de Gracia (Barcelona’s main square) shouting ‘water, water’, when he sees the police coming.” wrote ABC.<\/p>\n
This shocking report was seen by Griezmann, who was quick in his reaction on social media by harshly criticizing him and coming out in support of his teenage teammate.<\/p>\n
