Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has revealed that Real Madrid asked him to stay at the club this season before returning to England on a loan deal.<\/p>\n
The Spaniard returned to the Londoners with a one-season loan deal this summer after a successful 2019-20 period at the club, while revealing that Los Blancos executives asked him to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.<\/p>\n
“I spoke to Real Madrid and told them that Mikel Arteta wanted me to return. They asked me to wait, but I was clear that I wanted to go back to my club, where I had found my best level.” Ceballos initially explained to Marca.<\/p>\n
“You sit down to assess that the Euro and the Olympics are coming and you know you have to play an important role to be invited to the national team.”<\/p>\n
“With Mikel I found happiness as a player and as a person. And this is essential for a player.” concluded the Spaniard.<\/p>\n
