Puyol writes to Messi after the news that he is leaving Barcelona

Lionel Messi has told Barcelona that he wants to leave the club and now the news is confirmed.

Leaving is not the only problem, as he wants to activate a clause that could terminate his contract with immediate effect.

According to some reports, Messi has informed the club by fax that he wants to leave the Camp Nou after 20 years at the club.

The news has been confirmed by some respected Spanish journalists and media.

But that was not enough, as it was also the former Barcelona captain, Carles Puyol, who commented on his departure.

After hearing this news, he wrote on twitter: “Respect and admiration, Leo. All my support, friend.”

Luis Suarez responded to Puyol’s tweet with just two rounds of applause.

Now, there will no doubt be a full-fledged legal battle over whether Messi can actually use the clause in his contract that was supposed to have expired on June 1st.
