The Red Devils have spent a lot of money on the famous Serie A star who has appeared in three games for Atalanta so far.
Manchester United have been tracking teen Amad Diallo Traore for more than a year, according to Giovanni Galli, the person who discovered him and his brother Hamed.
On Monday, the Red Devils confirmed the acquisition of Amad from Atalanta in a value of more than 41 million euros.
The right-wing striker is expected to join the English club in January and the deal is expected to end after medical tests, personal conditions and work permit. Although only 18 years old, Diallo is expected to join United’s first team immediately.
Galli, who was Italy’s goalkeeper in 1980 and was No. 1 when the Azzurri won the 1986 World Cup, first recruited Amad and his brother Hamed when he saw them playing.
“Their quality is amazing.” Galli told Football Italia today. “They have been training with boys since they were born in 1999. Hamed Junior was born in 2000 and his brother Amad was born in 2002. Despite this, there is still a big gap between them.”
